S'mores Campfire Skillet Recipe with TikTok Influencer Youth Sweets

What You Need
If you’ve got the big three — graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows — then you most likely already have everything else on hand that you need for this S’mores Campfire Skillet recipe.
Graham crackers
Chocolate
Marshmallows
Oats
Butter
Flour
Vanilla
Baking Powder
Brown Sugar
Tips
- Grease your hands to make patting the dough into the skillet easier. Or if you’re camping use the plastic bag you stored the dough in to help tamp it down.
- If you don’t like oats, omit them.
Ingredients
Graham cracker oat crust
- ¾ cup butter softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup old fashioned or quick oats*
- ¾ cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs from about 9 full cracker sheets
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Filling
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup chopped semisweet chocolate
Instructions
Prep
- If making this for camping, you can make the graham cracker dough ahead of time at home and chop the chocolate ahead of time, storing them until you’re ready to assemble at the campfire.
- If baking in an oven, preheat to 350°F. Grease a 10.5-inch cast iron skillet.
Ready! Set! Dough!
- Cream together butter and brown sugar for about 3 minutes on medium speed. I used a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, but you can also use hand beaters.
- Add vanilla and beat to incorporate.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine oats, flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Whisk thoroughly to combine.
- Add dry ingredients to the creamed butter mixture. Beat just until combined.
Bring It Together
- Pat ⅔ of the mixture into the bottom of the skillet.
- Layer mini marshmallows and chopped chocolate on top of the dough. Crumble remaining dough over the top.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes in a conventional oven OR cover with foil and set over a campfire, checking for doneness every 5 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, if desired.
Pro Tip
- Grease your hands to make patting the dough into the skillet easier. Or if you’re camping use the plastic bag you stored the dough in to help tamp it down.
- Use a Lamson 8" Chinese Santoku Cleaver for chopping with ease
- *Oats are optional.
- I crushed my graham crackers in a food processor, but you don’t need to. You can put the graham cracker sheets in a plastic bag and crush them with the bottom of the cast iron skillet or a rolling pin.
