How do I care for my Kitchen Tools?

As with our knives, we recommend handwashing immediately after use, using a sponge with warm, soapy water and then drying with a soft cloth right away. A mild scouring pad or powder can be used for more stubborn grime, but we recommend against more heavy-duty products such as steel wool, which can leave scratches on the steel and handles.

Our Noir (POM) series tools can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but any wood handled tools should always be hand-washed.

To keep your knives looking great we recommend occasionally applying mineral oil and/or our beekeeper’s gold wood preserver to both blade and handle to seal out moisture and protect the steel, wood, and/or plastic.

Remember that metal kitchen utensils will scratch and damage most non-stick coatings such as Teflon. Always verify that your cookware and bakeware is metal-utensil safe when using our steel kitchen tools.
