What is G-10 Handle Material?
G-10 is truly a space-age material.
G-10 was originally developed by Westinghouse and has proved its toughness and durability in challenging electrical and mechanical device applications. G-10 is constructed from strong and durable fiberglass layers and epoxy resin and formed under high temperature and pressure. The resulting material is incredibly strong, highly resistant to temperature, impervious to moisture and when polished has a beautiful deep shine.
Glass fibers are what make G-10 so tough. Since G-10 is impervious to water and wetness, there is never any danger of handles swelling or distorting.
Your G-10 handle requires exceptionally Low Maintenance. Epoxy does not rust or oxidize, does not become brittle and will not soften over time. A light rub with Mineral Oil will bring out the natural brilliance and sheen.
In short, G-10 is an ideal material for knife handles, as it is light, does not expand or contract due to normal temperature and moisture exposure, and extremely rugged.

Nickel Silver is a copper alloy with nickel and zinc. The usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. Nickel silver is named due to its silvery appearance, but it contains no actual silver. Nickel Silver is non-magnetic.
