I love Lamson products – I own a knife block full of their chef’s, and steak knives. But I saw they hit a home run on the national television show, ‘America’s Test Kitchen,’ for this cleaver! ‘Best Budget Cleaver!’ (Season 19, Episode 5) Described as ‘the favorite cleaver of a couple of different testers,’ and ‘a great option.’ So I ordered it – and it is amazing! First off, amazing appearance right out of the box. The blade part comes wrapped in a blue plastic because it’s so sharp. Excellent packaging. Used it right away to slice up both steak and sweet potatoes. Lots and lots easier on these thicker (1.5-3”) items then with a chefs knife. Will use weekly. Once you have a great tool like this, it will be hard not to use. Walnut also feels great in the hand. Very high value tool.
