Great Knife for Cracking Walnuts

This is the perfect little knife to crack open walnuts and release any remaining meat in the shell. The knife is sturdy and a manageable size to maneuver around a walnut.

I have bought several of these knives over the years for our little chestnut harvest. It’s safe to use and works great on chestnuts. We use it all the time for other tasks too (even as a safe and easy box opener.). Be careful not to put it in the dishwasher because of the wooden handles.

We�ve been using the Lamson chestnut knife for years as it is the best tool we�ve found for scoring chestnuts. We also like that it has a long tradition of being made in New England. We bought one for my brother-in-law in Canada, but have not given it to him yet. The family has a long tradition of making �chestnut dressing� at the holidays. It�s more of a side dish than a �dressing� made of boiled and then chopped nuts and butter.

This knife is perfect for scoring chestnuts, it makes it so easy that I�m not afraid I will cut my fingers. Highly recommend it, very well made.

I hope people get these for chestnuts instead of the whacky devices that are on amazon. There's little risk of cutting yourself if you handle it right, it's more of a wrenching action than cutting, at least that's how I do it. I got one as a gift and ever since I've been sending one to anyone who is a chestnut lover like myself! (Great xmas gift)

This is the best tool EVER! I love eating chestnuts but have always found scoring them with a pairing knife to be difficult, dangerous, and time consuming. This knife makes the task SO much easier and much faster. This was a great investment in a high-quality product.

This tool allowed quick work of this years batch of holiday chestnuts. Depth of cut, ease of stabbing the shell and drawing the cut instead of stabbing or pushing allowed for a much more controlled and safe experience. Glad I purchased it. Thanks Christine Z
